Chicago's Premier Horn Section
The Chi-Town Horns are a top-tier live & studio professional horn section that has been performing in and around Chicago for the past 20 years. Typically Chi-Town Horns consists of Trumpet, Trombone, and Saxophone, but we can expand to up to 6 players for any musical situation. Our core members are Carlo Isabelli (trumpet), Charles Morgan (trombone), and Dan Moffett (Saxophone).
Chi-Town Horns has a wealth of professional experience in the music industry. We have toured and recorded with multiple Grammy Award winners, Rock ‘n Roll Hall of Fame Members, and chart toppers from all musical styles and eras. We’re most well known for being the first call horn section for The Buckinghams (Kind of a Drag, Mercy, Mercy, Mercy, Hey Baby), but we’ve toured and performed with many other notable artists, including the Rascals, the Box Tops, Gino Vannelli, Martha and the Vandellas, Jay and the Americans, CTA with Danny Seraphine and Bill Champlin, Michael McDonald, Lou Christie, Chubby Checker, Mary Wilson of the Supremes, and Little Anthony and the Imperials to name a few.
In addition to performing, we also provide custom arranging/scoring. If you’d like an arrangement of a horn part to match a specific recording or style we have you covered. We’ve transcribed and arranged hundreds of horn parts for a vast array of musical situations, and we can get you the horn section sound you’re looking for. And if you’ve got a full book already assembled and need a horn section to step in and play your show, we can do so without skipping a beat.
We are not hobbyists or part-time players, Chi-Town Horns is made up of college music professors with advanced degrees in music. This is not just a hobby for us... it’s our profession.
