Carlo Isabelli - Trumpet

4280184125223543683.PNG

Joliet native Carlo Isabelli was drawn to the lyrical sounds of the cornet at an early age. He started his musical journey on cornet back in the 4th grade, and soon after he was exposed to the great ‘Doc’ Severinsen, famed leader and trumpeter of the Tonight Show Band. It was in this moment that Carlo came to the realization that he wanted to be a professional trumpet player.

After graduating from Joliet Central High school and attending Joliet Junior college, Carlo found himself performing with several bands in the Joliet and Chicago land area. After years of performing professionally and developing his sound, Carlo was invited to join the nationally renowned 60’s group, The Buckinghams as their lead trumpet player.

Carlo has played on several Buckinghams recordings in his 30 plus years as a member of the band, and has also appeared on PBS television specials alongside The Buckinghams, The Grass Roots, The Cryan' Shames, The Ides of March, The American Breed, and Michael McDonald to name a few. Carlo also has had the honor of performing for not one, but two Presidential Inaugurations, traveling to Washington D.C. for the 2009 and 2013 Inaugurations.

Currently, Carlo continues to record and tour on trumpet with The Buckinghams. In addition, he can be seen performing with the extremely popular Chicago-based band "Cadillac Groove" along with fronting his own wedding band “The Carlo Isabelli Orchestra”. Carlo is a first call trumpet player for the Arcada Theatre, the Des Plaines Theatre, the Belfry Music Theatre, the Rialto, and the Genesee Theatre, and he has performed with a long list of nationally recognized Hall of Fame artists. Carlo currently tutors a full slate of private trumpet students, and his teachings focus on the core trumpet sound, along with the concept of a centered tone, and a full range, all being core fundamental aspects of playing the trumpet. Carlo continues to maintain each of these fundamentals every day he picks up his trumpet and plays.
